Inspiration
The theme for this project was "Fantasy". We have therefore decided to make a game inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. When brainstorming the ideas for the game mechanics and overall feel, we were originally inspired by turn-based board games, such as The Settlers of Catan, and existing real-time strategy games (Petra is a big fan of Age of Empires and the Cultures games). A later inspiration was Kingdoms and Castles.
Gameplay
At the start, you will build a small settlement in the middle of vast, uninhabited land. If you make this settlement attractive to the humans living on the plains. In exchange for food and protection from the forest-dwelling monsters, they will help you grow and expand your village into the most prosperous town in the whole land.
